The Orientation and placement of the building with respect to profile of the site , following principles of Vastu Shastra and the sun path lead to an architecture that complements with the natural setting . The building thus evolved has unobstructed views with sufficient daylight.
The client commissioned this house for his family , being traditional they wanted to follow Vastu Shastra .
Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science of harmony and prosperous living by eliminating negative and enhancing positive energies around us.
The house was designed around this ideology and followed Ancient Indian Architecture principles in order to address the space , sunlight , flow and function . The end result was a space designed with ample of sunlight , day light in order to create a harmonic symphony that is a delight forever for the inhabitants .
Ground Floor :
The spaces designed respond to varying levels of privacy .Approached from North-East direction ,on the ground floor level , at the entrance there is a spacious foyer leading to a home office, home theater along with a courtyard overlooking an ornate skylight and a vertical garden designed near the entrance.
First Floor :
The first floor is completely dedicated to the family with semi private spaces such as the living, kitchen and dining, along with the master bedroom placed in the south west corner of the residence.
Second Floor :
The second floor is designed to be a completely private space with three bedrooms located on this floor .
Third Floor :
The central mild steel staircase cladded with wooden threads, along with the stainless-steel handrail adds to the interior space. The stairs continue up to the third floor to a guest bedroom along with a large roof terrace containing a host of amenities and a green area for hosting gatherings, which was an important aspect of the brief.
All the private spaces are designed according to the occupant’s individual tastes, each unique and having a distinctive style.
The form and the volumetric of the Residence derive their geometry from a Cuboid while the relationship between the solids and voids are conveyed effectively in the design throughout the fenestration.
The material palette for public spaces consists of marble flooring while the bedrooms have wooden flooring.The color palette is kept neutral to add a touch of sophistication to the interiors.
